Greetings Brethren,

My term as Worshipful Master of our Lodge has come to end. On December 17th, we will install our newly elected slate of officers for 2017.

We worked hard and accomplished many things. The Kyle Adkins Scholarship had another excellent year and the new Flapjack Frenzy fundraiser for the scholarship seems to have a lot of potential for continued support. Our support of the Boy Scout Campership, as well as the Shield of Southwest Ohio, and Union Township Fire Department Smoke Detector Give-Away Program are just further examples of our lodge making a difference in our community. I hope that our philanthropy continues to be a primary focus for us.

Our annual flag retirement/awards luncheon in conjunction with the Boy Scouts continues to get better! If you haven’t had the opportunity to join us for this keystone event, please put June 10th on your calendar. You’ll be proud to be a Mason as you witness this fine event. Our social committee planned a diverse and fun selection of events that is connecting both new and long-term members to each other and to the lodge.

The credit for the advances that we have made belongs to the hardworking core of officers, committees, and general members, most of whom will continue to serve the Lodge next year. Their excitement about the fraternity is evident in their commitment to producing quality events and ritual.

I congratulate my friend and brother Dave Olmstead on his election as Worshipful Master. We will benefit immensely from his zeal, compassion, and wisdom.

It has been my privilege to serve you and the Lodge this year. I will remember this time fondly for the rest of my life. Thank you for allowing me to serve with all of you in making J.B. Covert a fun, exciting, and meaningful part of the lives of its members.

May we be proud of our achievements and remember that we have much more to do.

May God bless all of you!

Fraternally,

M. Jack Lennon
Worshipful Master
